March 4 Highlights: CBA, COA, CHTM, and CAS
The fair commenced with student registration from the College of Business Administration (CBA) and College of Accountancy (COA). While students settled in, audiovisual presentations (AVPs) were played, including one on campus safety protocols. The program formally opened with a welcome from the host, Ms. Brenzel Sitim, Technical Assistant of the Career Development Center, followed by the invocation, the Philippine National Anthem, and the UC Hymn.
Ms. Lea Tugano, the new Officer of the Career Development Center, officially opened the event. In her remarks, she encouraged students to absorb the insights shared during the sessions and apply them as they navigate the workforce.
The first speaker, Mr. Jason Comila, presented a comprehensive discussion on Labor Education. His session tackled essential topics such as workers’ and employers’ rights and responsibilities, general labor standards, post-employment issues, and Republic Act No. 11313 (Safe Spaces Act). His talk empowered students with the knowledge needed to assert their rights and responsibilities in the workplace.
Ms. Romelda Escaño followed with a highly engaging Employment Coaching session. She shared job search strategies, interview tips, and practical advice on identifying legitimate online job postings to avoid employment scams. Her segment also featured a mini career coaching activity, helping students discover their passions and align them with their career goals.
The afternoon session catered to the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management (CHTM) and the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), who received the same valuable sessions.
